Jazz
Many CYM students are interested in jazz and improvisation and there are excellent opportunities at the Saturday Centre. There are elementary improvisation classes for woodwind and brass players led by Catherine Shrubshall and Paul Jayasinha respectively.
Annie Whitehead takes both the Intermediate and Advanced Jazz ensembles – open to all instrumentalists - whilst Peter Shrubshall directs the CYM Dance Band.

The CYM Advanced Jazz Ensemble has performed at St. John’s, Smith Square and at the South Bank Centre.
