Head of Department - Gill Tarlton

The string department comprises over 140 students ranging in age from 8 to 18, and in standard from almost beginners to post-Grade 8. Individual tuition is available in all stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass and harp) and there are some places available for players of other instruments who want to take up a stringed instrument as a second study. We also offer Taster courses in harp and double bass. For those without their own instruments we have a large stock of loan instruments available
for a termly maintenance fee.
