Fees for the Main Centre
Most students resident in inner London boroughs are eligible for full or part funding by their local education authority, judged by residence not school. Funding authorities include City of London, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and City of Westminster (Lead Borough). However, the funding formula varies from borough to borough. All have fixed budgets and some require evidence of family receipt of main state benefits. LEA funding is not available for second study lessons or lesson extensions over and above the standard 30 minutes. For further guidance consult the CYM Finance Manager. Where students are not fully funded by LEAs, parents are required to pay the balance of fees. Students from non-subsidising London LEAs are also welcome where fees can be paid by parents. Owing to the historic constituency and social policy of the Centre, its fees are kept at the bottom end of, or below, comparable providers. In the case of financial hardship, judged by evidence of main state benefit, low income or other special factors, bursary funding may be available, provided by the Centre’s supporting Foundation for Young Musicians. Requests for bursary funding are handled by the Centre’s Finance Manager. For details of fees, please contact the CYM office. All parents are asked to pay an annual administration charge for a 3 term year. |
