Friends of CYM
All parents and carers of pupils attending CYM automatically become members of this organisation and are invited to help to further support their child at CYM by taking an active part in the running of fundraising activities, and in particular the Saturday canteen at Notre Dame.
This valuable facility provides, amongst other things, somewhere supervised and safe for the students and waiting parents in between lessons at the Notre Dame site. It is run totally by volunteers which means that all profits from the sale of low cost food and beverages, including home made sandwiches, donated cakes and flapjacks can
be used directly for CYM.

Inevitably, with so many students at CYM, running this facility is a big undertaking and we ask therefore that all parents and carers include their name on a shared rota system for helping to run the canteen.
In reality this will mean that most people will be asked to commit themselves to one Saturday morning session, or part of a session (9.00am – 12.30) or one afternoon session (12.30 – 3.00pm) each term.

For parents who are completely unable to make a commitment to our canteen rota, there are many other tasks that members perform to maintain the running of the organisation and they may feel that volunteering for one of these would suit them better.

Getting involved in the Friends of CYM need not be a huge commitment, but it is a good way to meet other parents and tutors from CYM, and it is good fun.  It can also provide an opportunity to discuss many small concerns or to ask other parents questions. It is also nice to meet so many young people.
